Cold Stores and Freezers
If you intend to store or remove anything in/from the cold rooms or freezers, please contact the lab team (geog.lab at ucl.ac.uk).
Ensure ALL MATERIAL IS CLEARLY LABELLED before storage.
B07 (Cold Room 1): General-purpose cold room for longer term storage.
B07 is the general-purpose cold room. Samples that have just been collected or samples for longer term storage should be stored in here. It is primarily for the storage of materials requiring cold temperatures to prevent degradation during sample processing.
B14 (Cold room 2): Current Project storage (temporary allocation and storage only)
This is the Current Project cold room containing samples that are being, or are to be worked with in the forthcoming months.
Back Door Fridge:
Back Door Fridge: this is for the overnight storage of material that needs to be kept at low temperatures when that material is brought onto the premises after lab hours. Items must only be stored in here until the following working day.
Freezers
are for material that needs to be temporarily stored in a frozen state (~-19oC) until required. They are not for long term storage.
