Geography MSc research on display

The annual UCL Physical Geography Poster Session of research undertaken by MSc students this year took place on Monday 7th September in the UCL North Cloisters.


The session allows students on UCL Geography's seven Physical Geography MSc programmes to showcase their dissertation research in:


As usual, there was an impressively broad range and excellence of research on display, including, among many others:

  • Measuring tropical trees using 3D laser scanning
  • River restoration and aquatic ecosystem health
  • Coastal erosion modelling
  • New ways to model and quantify large-scale ocean circulation patterns
  • Aquatic macrophyte diversity
  • Reconstruction of past climate variability from sediment record
  • Socioeconomic drivers of retail behaviour
  • Spatial assessment of cycling accidents in London
  • Climate and early evolution of Man.
