Youth, Identity and Belonging

Claire Dwyer’s keynote lecture at Oslo policy seminar

Youth, Identity and Belonging

On 5th December, Dr Claire Dwyer gave a keynote lecture, Broadening Approaches to Radicalisation: Youth, Identity and Belonging, at a breakfast policy seminar held at PRIO (Peace Research Institute Oslo), Norway.

Focusing on British experiences, she reflected on identity development among Muslim youth in the context of the increasing public focus on radicalization

The discussants to Claire’s paper were Therese Sandrup (The Norwegian Defense Research Establishment), advisor on extremism, Shoaib Sultan (Norwegian Centre Against Racism) and Professor Katrine Fangen (Department of Sociology and Human Geography, University of Oslo).

The audience included academics, policy makers and international embassy staff in Norway.
