Stadtkolloquium’s third PhD Urban research workshop

RGS-IBG support for annual event at UCL

Stadtkolloquium’s third PhD Urban research workshop

On the 26th and 27th of March Stadtkolloquium hosted its third annual PhD urban research workshop in the UCL Geography Department.

Stadtkolloquium is a UCL PhD postgraduate-led initiative associated with the UCL Urban Laboratory. It offers an interdisciplinary forum to encourage the dissemination and discussion of PhD urban research in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, allowing theoretical, practical and methodological issues to be aired amongst PhD students across departments and universities.

This year’s workshop focused on four themes: Experiencing the urban; urban interventions; society, nature and cities; and transnational urbanism. The meeting was part funded by the RGS-IBG Urban Geography Research Group and involved 32 PhD researchers from across the world at various stages of their research, and eight established researchers.

Stadtkolloquium also runs monthly research colloquia and a reading group. Anyone interested in getting involved in future events should join the Mailing List and watch for announcements on Stadtkolloquium’s twitter, facebook and website
