Modules available to non-Geography undergraduate and postgraduate students

Registering for a Geography module

It is possible for students from outside the Geography Department to take a Geography module as an 'elective'; however the number of places available for some of these modules may be limited by room sizes and other logistical constraints.

Affiliate students who are studying at UCL for Term 1 only must register for the options coded GEOG****A; students who are here all year should take the module without the A eg GEOG****.

How to register

If you wish to take a Geography module, you must request the module via PORTICO. Your place is not confirmed until both the teaching department (Geography) and your home department have approved your registration via PORTICO. The Geography Undergraduate Team will start approving registrations for Geography modules from the week beginning Monday 18th September, but please note that we may not be able to approve registrations for interdepartmental students until Monday 9th October. Geography-registered student (including Geography-registered Affiliates) module requests will be approved first, followed by students on degrees which have officially recognized Geography pathways; after this registrations by external students will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

AVAILABLE MODULES:

Undergraduate Modules 2017-18

Masters Modules 2017-18

If you have any queries, please email the Department.

Regulations

All students registered on Geography modules are subject to our regulations regarding course work length and plagiarism and are deemed to have accepted these on application for the module.

Undergraduates should see the Handbook particularly the pages on Coursework and Plagiarism. Masters Students will receive the course handbook giving full details of deadlines and submission rules.

Deadlines for submission will be made clear on the Moodle pages with the submission links and must be adhered to by all students.
