Nadya Jaworsky - Biography

B. Nadya Jaworsky is an assistant professor in the sociology department at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.A., M.Phil, and PhD from Yale University. Her PhD dissertation focused on debates about unauthorized immigrants: ‘It’s just not Main Street anymore!’ Mapping Out the Boundaries of Belonging in a New Immigrant Gateway. Recently, with Jeffrey C. Alexander, she has published Obama Power, a cultural sociological analysis of the political performances leading up to the 2012 presidential election. Her current research focuses on the social movement organizations within the immigrant rights movement in the United States and how they mobilize through the Internet.
