Staff-Student Meeting in Support of Refugees and Migrants

31st October, 9.30am: Open Meeting for Staff and Students in Support of Refugees and Migrants

Open Meeting to develop and coordinate UCL activities in support of refugees and migrants:

We would like to invite all UCL staff and students to an Open Meeting to further coordinate the activities that colleagues across UCL are developing to support refugees and others affected by conflict:
Monday 31st October, 9.30-10.30 am, at 26 Bedford Way, Room 113
In February 2016, the first UCL staff-student Open Meeting was attended by over 65 staff and students from across UCL. Since then, a number of working groups have been developing and coordinating a number of initiatives, with a particular focus on scholarships and access to higher education, and the new academic year has brought in new staff and students committed to developing further responses in support of refugees. This offers a key opportunity to map out and coordinate the ongoing and new activities taking place, and to continue working together as the UCL community strives to provide meaningful support to refugees and migrants.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday 31st October, and would be grateful if you could circulate this invitation widely across UCL.

Raphaela Armbruster, Centre for Languages and International Education
Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh, Co-Director of UCL's Migration Research Unit and Coordinator of UCL's Refuge in a Moving World Research Network
Claudia Lapping, IOE Department of Culture, Communication and Media
Andrea Rigon, Development Planning Unit, Bartlett School
