Celebrating Juhan Ross

UCL Remote Sensing group at Estonian Symposium

Celebrating Juhan Ross

This summer, Professor Philip Lewis, Dr Jennifer Adams (UCL Geography undergrad, MSc and PhD, 2009+, now at the EU Joint Research Centre, Ispra), and Niall Origo (UCL MSc Remote Sensing 2011; now at the National Physical Laboratory) attended a symposium at Tartu Observatory, Estonia, to celebrate the work and influence of Professor Juhan Ross (1925-2002) in the field of vegetation canopy radiative transfer.

It was a great opportunity to meet up with friends and colleagues in the radiative transfer community, to think about what had been achieved and to consider the future of the field.
