Understanding Our Climate System

On 11-12 September, Dr David Thornalley and Professor Jonathan Holmes attended the inaugural UK Paleoclimate Society (PACS) Conference 'Past to Future: Understanding Our Climate System’, hosted by the School of Earth & Ocean Sciences, University of Cardiff.

Jonathan presented his work on, 'Oxygen-isotope records of the Early Holocene climate of Europe’.

In a paper co-authored with Professor Neil Rose, David spoke on,  ‘Exceptional Shift to a Weaker Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation at the end of the Little Ice Age’.

Others who attended associated with UCL Geography included Alice Carter-Champion, whose PhD is co-supervised by David at Royal Holloway UL, and current MSc student Sveta Radionovskaya.
