Helen’s photograph at Royal Highland Show

Winning water lilies

In August, Dr Helen Bennion’s photograph of white water lilies (Nymphaea alba) was announced the Winner of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s (SEPA) Royal Highland Show 2013 photo competition on the theme of Scotland’s waters. The photograph was taken at Loch a'Chaolais, Stockinish, Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides on a beautiful June day in 2007.

James Curran, SEPA’s Chief Executive, said:

“It was difficult to select a favourite photo, however we feel that Helen's breathtaking image of white water lilies in Harris is a very deserving winner. We would like to congratulate Helen, and our two runner-ups, on this achievement and hope it will encourage them and others to continue recording the magic of Scotland’s waters.”

The winning photographs are available to view on SEPAs Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ScottishEnvironmentProtectionAgency and at:
