Hugh Clout presents Geography "Nobel Prize" to Ed Soja

As annual Chair of the Jury International Vautrin-Lud, Professor Hugh Clout had the privilege of presenting the work of Professor Ed Soja (UCLA), this year’s prize winner, at the 26th Festival International de Géographie, held at Saint-Dié-des-Vosges on 2-4 October.

The decision to honour Professor Soja was based on the opinions and rankings of almost 150 geographers from around the world.

From UCL, the late Sir Peter Hall (2001) and Professor Mike Batty (2013) are among the 28 recipients of this distinguished prize, often referred to as the ‘Nobel Prize of Geography’.

The identity of the next prize winner will be announced in the Spring of 2016.
