Young People, Identities and multi-ethnic spaces

Encouraging research collaboration between UCL and the Institute of Education

Young People, Identities and multi-ethnic spaces

On 3rd November, Dr Claire Dwyer, Ruth Judge (PhD student, UCL Geography) and Dr Humera Iqbal (Institute of Education) organised a workshop to bring together staff at UCL and the Institute carrying out research into the experiences of young people, entitled ‘Young People, Identities and multi-ethnic spaces’.

The workshop attracted staff from a range of departments in both institutions as well as recently completed PhD students in Geography including  Dr Caitlin O’Neil Gutierrez and Dr Femi Adekunle. It was funded from a grant recently awarded to Claire and Humera to explore collaboration between UCL and IoE in the light of their forthcoming merger.

Some lively discussions led to plans for further events.
