Art, creativity and urban regeneration

Andrew Harris in Detroit, Hackney Wick and Nottingham

Art, creativity and urban regeneration

Dr Andrew Harris had a busy October presenting his ideas on the role of art and creativity in recent urban change.

He was invited to present at the Association of the Study of the Arts of the Present annual conference, held on October 3-6 in Detroit, which this year had the theme of Arts of the City.

Closer to home, on Friday 25 October, he took part in a panel in Hackney Wick organised by Create London and SPACE at the White Building about the Creative Time Summit in New York on Art, Place and Dislocation in the 21st Century.

On 29 October, he also participated in a conversation at the Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery, convened by Wasteland Twinning Nottingham, on the relationship between urban regeneration and creativity.
