Andrew Harris and Louis Moreno question assumptions of current policy

Creative City Limits

Dr Andrew Harris and Louis Moreno have recently written a pamphlet entitled Creative City Limits: Urban Cultural Economy in a New Era of Austerity that questions the ambiguous social and political assumptions of 'creative city' policy making.

Aiming to provide a concise and provocative summary of contemporary academic debates, the authors outline ways that the notion of the creative city might be challenged and reformulated in light of current economic difficulties and new social priorities.

The pamphlet has been described  by Aditya Chakrabortty, of the Guardian as ‘a cogent, critical guide to the absurdities of the creative cities movement’ .

The pamphlet is available from www.creativecitylimits.org
