Pushpa launches Berlin dialogue

Provincialising planetary urbanisation

Dr Pushpa Arabindoo was invited to be a keynote speaker at the first public debate in the Critical Dialogues Series, The New Urban Agenda 'on the ground', launched on April 20th at the Global Soil Week 2015, in Berlin.

The first dialogue focussed on Overriding the urban/non-urban divide. Pushpa’s paper, ‘Provincialising planetary urbanisation: situating Chennai between its region and the global’, offered a perspective on Chennai as a city, metropolis, region and beyond from an ethnographic viewpoint, to provincialise the planetary urbanisation discourse.
