Keynote presentation by Peter Jones at Plymouth Marine and Coastal Policy Forum

Challenges for UK Marine Protected Areas
Dr Peter Jones made a keynote presentation to the 2nd Marine and Coastal Policy Forum at the University of Plymouth on 20th June 2014, in which he discussed Progress, challenges and prospects for Marine Protected Areas in the UK.
He argued that, while some progress has been made, there are still major challenges - a recent assessment by the European Environment Agency had concluded that 97% of designated marine habitats in the UK are in unfavourable condition.
