Awards to Caroline Bressey and Claire Dwyer

UCL Geography 2014 staff promotions

Congratulations to two UCL Geography staff who have been awarded Readerships this year:

Dr Caroline Bressey: Reader in Historical Geography

Caroline’s research is focused on historical and cultural geographies of the black presence in Britain, particularly London; Victorian theories of race and anti-racism; and the links between contemporary identity and the diverse histories of London.

Dr Claire Dwyer: Reader in Geography

Claire has concentrated on Muslim identities in Britain and the challenges for multiculturalism posed by the presence of Islamic minorities in Europe. In the context of migration, transnationalism and religion, she has also explored the transnational geographies of new suburban faith spaces in the UK and Canada.
