Jason Dittmer co-edits new book on American evangelical geopolitics

Mapping the End Times

The new year sees the publication of Dr Jason Dittmer’s new book, co-edited with Tristram Sturm (UCLA), 'Mapping the End Times: American Evangelical Geopolitics and Apocalyptic Visions'.

This addresses the rise of evangelicalism as an important social and political force in America over the last quarter-century. Leading contributers, including William E. Connolly, Michael Barkun, Simon Dalby, and Paul Boyer, examine the spatial dimensions of the movement and its intersection of politics and religion.  Evangelicalism takes different forms, from the moderates to the would-be theocrats who seek to impose their interpretations of the Bible on American foreign policy. The movement and its geopolitical visions are appraised, with their wider impact on America and the world at large."
