Jason Dittmer featured in UCL podcast

Captain America, Bletchley Park and the Flaxman Galleries

The 23rd November UCL News podcast includes an interview with Dr Jason Dittmer about nationalist superheros such as Captain America, and how their narratives, metaphors and geopolitics have changed since his introduction 70 years ago. In the interview Jason explains the shifting moral focus of Captain America’s appeal, in opposition to Nazis in World War II, communism in the 1950s, the Vietnam War in the 1960s and even crony capitalism in his more recent manifestations.
