Professor continues his research on governance and poverty in Bogotá

Alan Gilbert will be in Colombia for the first three weeks of September continuing his research on governance and poverty in the city. During his visit a book will be published by the Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá’s oldest university. Exitos de Bogotá ¿Y los pobres? is written by Alan and his collaborator on the now completed Leverhulme Trust project, María Teresa Garcés. It contains six chapters covering Bogotá’s recent urban transformation, its new public bus system, how its water company operates, the impact of its last left-wing mayor, the security situation and community participation in the city.
