The Migration Research Unit (MRU) is based in the Department of Geography at University College London (UCL). The MRU was founded in 1988 and has developed a reputation for high quality research focused particularly on national and European migration trends and migration policy. The appointment of a number of new staff in recent years has expanded the membership and focus of the Migration Research Unit with new interests in transnationalism and diasporas as well as engagement with new geographical areas, particularly Africa. The Migration Research Unit have been central in the setting up of the new UCL Global Migration Network.  Our Masters in Global Migration gives students the opportunity to undertake interdisciplinary research on migration at UCL.

The MRU is a member of the London Migration Research Group and co-host of the LMRG seminar series - click here to see the seminar schedule.
