Migration Research Unit
The Migration Research Unit (MRU) brings together researchers in the department of geography with research and teaching interests in migration. Ongoing research focuses on diasporas, transnationalism, asylum and refugees, national and international migration policies, theorising mobilities, development and migration, measuring and mapping migration. Established by Professor John Salt in 1988, since 2010 the MRU has become a critical nexus for research on migration across UCL and includes as members researchers from across the social sciences and humanities at UCL.
