Geographers are valued for a range of skills including:

  • Extensive knowledge of the changes taken place within and interconnections between societies and physical environments
  • Understanding of the importance of spatial relationships and scales
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Literacy including the ability to synthesize material and construct logical arguments
  • Numeracy including the ability to interpret statistical information
  • Capacity for independent learning and group work

Geography undergraduates at UCL frequently go on to: further study, volunteer work and/or a wide range of paid career sectors including banking and insurance, consultancy, marketing, retail, teaching and much more.
