JoAnn is Reader in Human Geography and convenes the MSc Global Migration. Her publications include Zimbabwe's New Diaspora: Displacement and the Cultural Politics of Survival (2010) and Crossing the Zambezi: The Politics of Landscape on a Central African Frontier (2009). She co-edits the Journal of Southern African Studies.
