UCL Emeriti hold celebration lunch
A luncheon was held on 31st October at the Gatsby Restaurant in Berkhamsted to celebrate the 90th birthday of Emeritus Professor Eric Brown.
Eric was a member of the UCL Geography staff, leading its physical geography research and teaching programmes, from 1950 until his retirement in 1989.
The luncheon was attended by most of UCL’s current Emeriti staff, including Bill Mead, David Lowenthal, Tony French, Hugh Prince, David Harris, Andrew Warren, John Catt, Peter Wood, Richard Munton, John Salt, and Hugh Clout
Three former colleagues and students also made brief speeches reminiscing about Eric’s influence on their careers; Kenneth Gregory (Formerly University of Southampton and Warden, Goldsmiths University of London), David Robinson (Syracuse University), and Edmund Penning Rowsell (Middlesex University).
