Equiano Centre co-hosts book launch on pioneer of Aboriginal rights

The Lone Protestor

On 14th June, the Equiano Centre UCL, with the Aboriginal Studies Press and the Raphael Samuel History Centre, will host the launch of a new book, The Lone Protestor, on the life of Anthony Martin Fernando, an Australian Aboriginal who protested against British imperial rule while he lived and worked in London and Europe during the 1920s and 1930s.

Its author, Dr Fiona Paisley, will discuss her work with the novelist Bernardine Evaristo at the Bishopsgate Institute, opposite Liverpool Street Station, from 6.00 to 8.30 pm.
