Strengthening science links, co-operation and exchange

Rick Battarbee awarded Einstein Professorship by Chinese Academy of Sciences

Professor Rick Battarbee has been awarded an Einstein Professorship by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.  Twenty Einstein Professorships are awarded to eminent scientists by CAS each year.  They are designed to strengthen links between CAS scientists and the labs of Einstein Professors and to enhance the training of future generations of Chinese scientists.

Rick will be required to lecture in Beijing and Nanjing this year and to carry out discussions with Chinese scientists on common research interests.  In return he will host visits to UCL Geography’s Environmental Change Research Centre by two young Chinese scientists in the following year.
