Photographer to join Migration Research Unit as Artist in Residence
Liz Hingley to be funded by Leverhulme Trust
A second UCL Geography Artist in Residence (see below) will be funded by the Leverhulme Trust from January 2012. Liz Hingley is joining the Migration Research Unit (MRU) for 12 months to work with Claire Dwyer and other MRU colleagues.
Liz is an award winning photographer with particular interests in faith and migration. Her exhibition documenting the diversity of faith communities on Soho Road in Birmingham, ‘Under gods’, was shown in London and Paris in 2011 and has been published by Dewi Lewis (2011).
Liz has previously worked on commissions for Save the Children Fund, Sussex University and Le Monde and has been a photographer in residence at nursery schools in London and a homeless hostel in Brighton.
