On 19 October, Dr Andrew Harris gave a talk on The fine art of global city creation in London and New York’ at a symposium entitled Global Cities, Globalisation & Transatlantic Relations.

Held at the British Library, and organized for study abroad students by CAPA International Education and the Eccles Centre for American Studies, the symposium explored the political and cultural relationship between the US and UK and the dynamics and continuing influence of transatlantic global cities within this relationship.

On 12 November, Andrew also presented a paper to the Taking Place seminar series at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH), University of Cambridge. Engineering formality: flyover and skywalk construction in Mumbai drew on his continuing research into elevated transport construction in urban India.
