UK to host 12th International Paleolimnology Symposium 2012

Members of the UCL Environmental Change Research Centre and the Newcastle University School of Geography are organising the 12th International Paleolimnology Symposium, to be held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow from August 21st – 24th 2012.

With 330 delegates already registered from over 30 countries, we are looking forward to a stimulating scientific meeting embracing every aspect of palaeolimnology.

Plenary speakers include our very own Rick Battarbee and keynotes by three departmental staff, John Birks, Jonathan Holmes and Carl Sayer.

A social programme is being planned to suit all tastes including a Loch Lomond boat cruise, a distillery tour and a conference dinner featuring haggis and a live ceilidh band.
