Translating Cultures: The future of diplomacy

Dr Jason Dittmer, with Dr Fiona McConnell (Cambridge), has been awarded a £41,000 Research Networking grant by the Arts and Humanities Research Council  to fund an international network of scholars, practitioners and stakeholders to discuss the future of diplomacy and scholarship on diplomacy. Three workshops will be held, in London, Cambridge, and the Hague.

The Network has been funded under the AHRC's Translating Cultures initiative. This is designed to address the need for understanding and communication across diverse cultures by looking at the role of translation, in its broadest sense, in the transmission and sharing of languages, values, beliefs, histories and narratives.
