WISER about the quality of European surface water

Drs Helen Bennion, Martin Kernan and Ben Goldsmith represented UCL at the WISER midterm project meeting from 6-9 September 2010 in Debe, Poland. WISER (Water bodies in Europe: Integrative systems to assess ecological status and recovery) is an EU FP7 funded project supporting the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) by developing tools for the integrated assessment of the ecological status of European surface waters. The meeting was hosted by the ECRS’s Polish partner, the Institute of Environmental Protection (Warsaw), and attended by over 110 scientists and water managers from 18 European countries.
