ECRC member helps with disaster relief in Burma

Mike Hughes has flown to Thailand to assist the UN with their humanitarian operations in Burma after Cyclone Nargis struck the region around Rangoon.

ECRC member helps with disaster relief in Burma

Mike, a member of the ECRC (Environmental Change Research Centre), is a volunteer for MapAction. MapAction is an NGO that creates and distributes maps in disaster regions, and they are helping to coordinate relief efforts in Burma. The work of the MapAction team will support the UN OCHA. MapAction are currently working from Bangkok and are awaiting permission to enter Burma. To view some of their maps of the affected parts of Burma, click here and here.
